Openblade is an open source internet operating system based on Linux kernel, aims at providing software solution to switch, router, storage and streaming application. Current version can run in Redhat Linux, further running in other OS need to be verified.

Design Aims of Openblade
- Provide solution to storage(SAN/NAS)---FCoE, iSCSI, NFS, WebNFS, SMB/CIFS; file system, migration, CDP, snapshot, virtulization
- Provide solution to network(switch/router)---TCP/IP/UDP, RADIUS/DIAMETER; SMTP; RIP, BGP, OSPF, DHCP, PPP, PTMP, VPN, SSL, SSH, NAT, IGMP; VLAN/VTP, QoS; SNMP/TR069, Telnet, CLI, FTP/TFTP, CGI, HTTP/HTTPS; RSTP/MSTP, MPLS
- Provide solution for steaming(voice, video)---RTSP, RTP, RTCP, H.264
- Provide virtulization for server, storage, network; virtulization compose infrusturcure of cloud computing
Specification document for Openblade is still under way.
Source code of Openblade is released under LGPL.
